In the beginning, it might be easier for you to include just a few cards in your reading. I used three cards in the beginning, and drew more for clarification. Later on, once you are more experienced in reading your cards.....
you can add more to get larger, more comprehensive readings.
You will have two separate readings in your spread. First you want to look at the position of the cards in your spread. It has a meaning why one card follows the other, or is before the other. The second reading is to interpret how the cards relate to one another. Each reading tells you something. All you have to do is piece it together.
If something is unclear in your spread, or you feel that you can't quite understand the meaning of a certain card or cards in your reading, you can pull more cards from the deck for clarification. If you need more quidance, you can, after the first reading, reshuffle the deck and ask for clarification. For some readers, it works to keep the initial card that needs clarification as the focal point for the second reading.
You are never limited to one spread or deck. You can switch decks, or do a new spread in the middle of your reading for more guidance. If the spread is not clear, do it again and ask for clarification. Follow your instinct. If it does not make sense, or if you feel you can't read the spread, do it again until you see your answer.
You will know when the reading is over. You will either feel that you reached the end, or the cards simply start repeating themselves to you. Sometimes you know your reading is over when the new cards do not seem to have any meaning or relationship to the reading. One way or another, you will know when you have reached the end of one reading.
